Sun Wukong is born from a stone on Flower-Fruit Mountain, and he has questions. Why do things have to end? He crosses two oceans on a raft to find the answer, and discovers something unexpected along the way.
2. The Back Door
Wukong arrives at a school for immortals expecting lightning and explosions. He finds students with brooms, seven years of chores, and a teacher who teaches sideways.
3. Sun Wukong
Wukong comes home to find his family broken — and introduces himself to them for the first time.
4. The Compliant Rod
Wukong goes shopping for a weapon. The shopkeeper can't say no, and the universe is about to find out what a sea-pinning iron rod does in the wrong hands.
5. A Good End
Heaven calls Wukong before a court he wasn't expecting. He brings a question they aren't ready for.
6. Great Sage, Equal to Heaven
Heaven offers Wukong a job. Wukong has thoughts.
7. Not on the List
Wukong gets everything he asked for — and immediately starts causing a different kind of trouble.
8. One Cloud
Heaven sends its army to Flower-Fruit Mountain. Wukong is waiting at the gate.
9. The Equal
Two shapeshifters find their match — and only one of them knew going in that they'd met it.
10. The Palm
The monkey who was born thinking the universe was the size of a mountain discovers the universe is larger than he imagined — and so is the hand holding it.
